Board and Committees

It takes many hands to make any organization run, and it is no different here. Thanks to the many committee members, ACP-GPN continues to provide high quality programs and events, and connections to a wealth of knowledge and experience to enable our members to provide high value service to the clients they support.

Specific needs at the present time include:

  • Program Ambassadors: Help with registration. Circulate to greet program attendees and make newcomers feel welcome. Time needed: Arrive 20-30 minutes early.
  • Name Tags: Make and bring name tags to programs. Time needed: two hours prior to each program plus bringing the name tags or figuring out delivery to meeting site
  • Table fliers: For each program, create an attractive document about the speakers and program topic. Collaborate with a Program Committee rep to get the necessary information. Time needed: estimate one hour per program (six programs per year)
  • Vet requests for Access to ACP: Ad-hoc committee to vet requests for access to ACP meetings or members. Time needed: when a request comes in, whatever time it would take to come to a consensus decision to propose to the Board.
  • 501(c): If you have experience forming a non-profit organization, and would be willing to advise or do some leg work, let us know. Time needed: TBD. Could be significant.
  • Sponsorship committee member/ Coordinator: Help find a university or company to host ACP programs. In lieu of or in addition to hosting, a sponsor could pay for food, speaker travel, or general support to ACP. The person or committee would first develop guidelines e.g. levels/types of sponsorships and benefits the sponsor would receive. Time needed: depends on the role and the process of setting up the infrastructure.
  • Assistant Treasurer: Learn and support the Treasurer with the option of eventually transitioning onto the Board. Time needed: 1-2 hours per month.
  • Membership Chair: Promote member benefits, welcome new members, encourage member involvement.
  • Vice President/President-Elect: Support the work of the President and Board.

President Works with Board to ensure the purpose of ACP-GPN is being fulfilled. Together with the other members of the Board, develops the organization’s strategic goals and annual operating plans. Leads Board meetings and the review of achievements versus plans.

Vice President/President Elect Successor to the President. Ensures that all operational elements of the association are running smoothly. Works closely with the Treasurer and the Committee Chairs, facilitating expedient day-to-day issues and concerns.

Treasurer In concert with the Vice President, provides fiscal leadership to the organization and follow through on routine fiscal decisions. This includes collecting fees for attendance and membership, and disbursing funds for expenses.

Secretary Records Board meeting minutes and collaborates with President in planning Board meetings.

Technology Committee Manages the organization's website and membership software, and coordinates live streaming and recording of meetings. Debra Franke
Membership & Technology Chair
Membership Committee Reaches out to members and prospective members to understand and ensure their needs and interests are being met. By understanding the interests and skills of the membership, serves as a key input to succession planning for Board and Committee positions. Prepares meeting nametags and ensures meeting registration table is staffed.

Program Committee Identifies and brings timely and essential information and insights to the career management community by planning the bi-monthly meetings. Recruits and educates program speaker(s) about requested topic and its relevance to our diverse Network members. Prepares all meeting announcements. Stephanie Welder
